Historical costumes are beautiful and fun to wear. This green dress is made out of thick brocade from head to toe. I wear it with and without a hoop skirt. The fabric is very heavy and has a great feel to it. It was not fun to sew. If you've ever tried to "gather" heavy brocade and then sew it gathered, you'll know what I'm referring to. The only shame is that this dress is very uncomfortable to wear in the heat. Our Renaissance festival is held April-June! The hoopskirt helps. |
