While many people have heard of Enya, most people have not seen her music videos.

If you can classify yourself as such, her music videos are often just as creative and mind inspiring as her music can be. She likes the fantastic and the elements of her videos such as the costumes and stories reflect no differently.

I took a particular liking to the costume from "On My Way Home". The story focuses on Enya returning home by train in winter and remembering aspects of her childhood. The featured outfit is the white one you see to the left.

Made of feathers, fur and trim, this costume was a particular challenge. Although it may not be as "sexy" as other costumes I've made, it has probably been the most difficult for me to construct.

Why? Well because there are absolutely NO commercial patterns for a form fitting, floor length, high collared jacket. Believe me, I spent hours looking. Finally I gave up and constructed the pattern myself. It is a hybrid of a womens fitted half length jacket and part of a fitted floor length flowing dress. Combining the two was extremely challenging as the princess seams on both were constructed differently. A poor modification could have meant that the sleeves fit improperly or the back would be too wide while something else was too tight.

Things like that will scare an intermediate seamstress but I think I can say I'm a bit more advanced at this point. Especially after constructing it.

I used 5 yrds of fur trim, barely a yard of fur fabric for the hat, 5 yards of cording, 6yrds of white fabric and lining and some feathers. The gloves and boots were purchased some time back. I've been slowly picking along the construction over a 2 yr period. I really hope my future costumes aren't this difficult.
