"With roots dating back to 1936, the festival began as a celebration of springtime in the South. Now in its 65th year, this arts, music and environmental happening is a community-wide charity event, entertaining, involving and enlightening people from throughout metro Atlanta and the southeast." http://www.dogwood.org (Dogwood Festival Homepage)
The GA501st made a special trip to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival this year. We set up a table in the park and posed for pictures with people wandering around the festival. There was a lot of carnival like food, a Dog Frisbee competition, a kids play area and hundreds of booths showing arts and crafts. We even had the luck of appearing in a new sitcom on, Fox called "As the world spins" or something similar. Though no guarantee they will play our footage. The most annoying part of the day was the fact it was so warm, the glue in my armor started to get warm and give up on me. I was falling apart and decided to quit early. I was also in a "nap" mood with the warm air and the shade of a huge tree.
Here are some pictures of the day at the Dogwood.
