We were invited to participate in the St Patrick's Day Parade in Buckhead Atlanta on February 17th.
Indeed our group had a blast, including several members of the 501st Legion who drove all the way from Florida to participate in the parade. We even had an employee from radio Z94 (?) float defect and done the tie fighter pilot costume! He loved it!
A lot of people deserve thanks in making this event happen, especially those who contacted people, organized, arrived, decorated, created banners and had fun!
Although the organizational skills of the officials had a lot to be desired of, we thank them for their grace in allowing us to participate without fee or cost. They enjoyed our group so much that next year they wish to donate a float and put us close to the front of the parade.
It was also an event that made having FRS Radios MANDATORY for membership in our group!!! Without those radios, an annoying fiasco would have been a terrible catastrophe. A lot of stupid things happened, but in the end, the parade worked well and no one will forget it!
Thank you to the Florida Garrison for a good portion of these pictures, and the nice fellow from Canada who took them! Go Canada!
